Core Stability for Daily Function

DSC_3984The importance of core stability is prevalent in daily function; including balance, walking, and upper/lower extremity strength.  With weak core muscles, it is not uncommon to incur back pain, improper posture and insecure gait.  The core is the “powerhouse” or center of the kinetic chain, therefore, it must be maintained to properly perform its daily function.

Fortunately, muscles of the core can be exercised on a daily basis to maximize results.  An evaluation must be conducted to understand the limitations of the client.  When executed properly, core exercise will warm the muscles, improve flexibility and increase awareness of the muscle tissues involved.  To ensure excellent mechanics, it is strongly recommended to seek professional assistance.

Senior Fitness of Florida offers a variety of classes which engage the core stabilty, improving balance and gait while reducing pain.
